Final Image will be 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels in height.
There should be at LEAST 6 LABELED layers - one for each example of the filter.
You will apply 1 filter to 1 layer.
Therefore, each layer will only have ONE filter applied to it.
You will have one BLANK layer (the background) that you will create a cloud effect on it.
When saving this file, please name it 'Lab_P3_3YourName.psd'.

For this Do Now you are going to play with filters.
Take any picture you like - a friend, celebrity, animal, whatever (just make sure it's at least 400 pixels in one direction to be safe).
Use that image for the Liquify Effect ONLY.
Find a different image to use for the other filters.
I want to see all 6 pictures displayed at the same time. Order does not matter.
1. You are first going to use the liquify effect.
This can be found under filters > liquify.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO WRITE DOWN THE SETTINGS FOR THIS FILTER!

a. The first tool you want to find on the left is the reconstruct tool. It works just like a history brush, so if you make a mistake, you can use this brush to repair it.
b. Don't worry about using the mask tools in the liquify area. Just use the edit tools - pucker, bloat, twist and forward warp.
c. Click 'Ok' when you are satisfied.
WHEN YOU BRING IN THE SECOND PICTURE, CHOOSE FILTER > CONVERT FOR SMART FILTERS
I suggest that JUST BEFORE you apply a filter to a layer, write down the filter so you don't forget.
I suggest that JUST BEFORE you apply a filter to a layer, write down the filter so you don't forget.
2. Label the layer for the filter you will use. Use ANY one of the filters under the Artistic filters. Play around, see which one you like best. CHANGE THE SETTINGS!!
3. Label the layer for the filter you will use. Use the sketch filters. Remember, this one uses the foreground and background colors. Again, use ANY one of the filters you like.
4. Label the layer for the filter you will use. Use the Blur effect. Try one you haven't used.
5. Label the layer for the filter you will use. Use a Distort effect.
6. Label the layer for the filter you will use. Use a Stylize effect.
7. The last filter I want you to play with does not require a picture; you are going to use the background layer.
a. Click on the white background layer.
b. Under filter > render, select the clouds filter.
c. On the background layer, I want you to go to filter > render > lens flare. See what happens when you add this filter to your clouds.
Bonus - Add a layer of text underneath each picture to describe the filter. Use layer styles on this text.
When you are done, Transfer your LAB_p3_3 to the teacher station.
